Kent Bowker is an exploration geologist with 40+ years of domestic and international experience. Kent served as the lead geologist for Mitchell Energy and was critical to the discovery of Barnett Shale gas and the start of the shale revolution. A pioneer in the discovery, evaluation, and development of shale-gas resources, Kent’s accomplishments have been documented in multiple news publications, books, and video presentations. Additionally, he has extensive experience with most geologic basins in North America and has published numerous geologic studies, including results of CO2 injection at Rangely Field. He was also a past member of the National Petroleum Council’s team investigating the future of the nation’s natural gas supply. Before joining Mitchell Energy in 1998, Kent began his career as a Geologist with Gulf Oil Corporation before spending over a decade with Chevron as a Senior Geologist. Mr. Bowker holds a M.S. in Geology from Oklahoma State University and a B.S. in Geology from Adrian College.
